Top 10 Wordly Updates For 2024
1. AI Translation Benchmark Research
In July we published the 2024 State of Live AI Translation, a comprehensive global study into the use of live translation at multilingual meetings and events. The report provides deep insights from meeting and event planners into trends for multilingual meetings, the use of live translation at events, and the impact of AI on multilingual meetings. 2. New Languages
We launched 10 new languages, including: Afrikaans, Albanian, Armenian, Catalan, Georgian, Icelandic, Norwegian, Punjabi, Tagalog, and Ukrainian. Since Wordly supports two way translation (e.g., English to Spanish, Spanish to English, etc.), we now support over 3,000 language pairs. We do extensive testing and benchmarking prior to releasing new languages to ensure you get high quality output. We also do ongoing testing and optimization to make sure the quality remains high.
We released a new API which makes it easier for customers to upload large quantities of videos with Wordly and create subtitles in dozens of languages. This makes it easier and more affordable to meet the growing demand to globalize your videos and on-demand content.
In addition to adding new and powerful features, we also invest significant resources to ensure we provide enterprise security protection and comply with high standards like SOC 2 Type II. We also continuously expand our infrastructure to scale the operation to support tens of thousands of simultaneous users per session.
We published several ebooks to help you understand AI translation, and also how to get the most out of your live translation investment. A sampling of the guides include:
We enhanced our ability to provide live translation and captions for Microsoft Teams meetings. Wordly makes it easy and affordable to make your Teams meetings more inclusive for a global audience. The translations are fast and very high quality.
We made updates to our Zoom App integration to streamline the Zoom re-approval process. Wordly can support Zoom video meetings as well as in-person meetings and events.
This new capability enables Wordly to automatically detect the speaker language in real time, and switch the input language when participants start speaking in a different language - making it even easier to host multi-language meetings and events.
10. Push to Talk
If you are hosting multi-language meetings where participants are in the same room, it is important to ensure the translation system knows which language is being used as the speakers change. With the new Push to Talk capability, everyone can be logged in as a speaker with their microphones muted. As each person speaks, they press a button on their device to unmute their microphone while they are speaking. When they release the button, another participant can begin speaking in their preferred language.
Learn more about automatic language switching, push to talk, and all of our other powerful live translation capabilities, including customizable glossaries, translated transcripts, and much more.
